Clarification for the temporary closure code “SO” – Service Open – Holiday period with no attendances

When can services use the new temporary closure code “SO” (Service Open – Holiday period with no attendances)?

• This code can be used when a service is open during the holiday period, and parents have confirmed that their child(ren) are booked to attend. However on the day, the teacher(s) are present but none of the children attend.
• If this situation occurs, services are entitled to funding for that day.

When this code is used, the service is entitled to claim funded hours but staff hour count should be zero (similar to emergency closure rule).
